Premiile MTV VMA 2021 s-au încheiat cu Beyoncé, Harry Styles și Travis Scott printre câștigătorii încoronați la ceremonia din acest an.
Ceremonia a avut loc la Barclays Center din Brooklyn, New York. A fost găzduită de Doja Cat, care a interpretat și single-urile ei „Be Like This” și You Right și a luat acasă premiul pentru cea mai bună colaborare cu single-ul său, lansat cu SZA, ‘ Kiss Me More ’.
Ceremonia a prezentat o suită de interpretădi live, de la Twenty One Pilots, Kacey Musgraves, Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran și multe altele. Lorde trebuia, de asemenea, să cânte, dar anulat săptămâna trecută reprezentația din cauza impactului pe care l-ar fi avut protocoalele de siguranță COVID ale MTV asupra configurării dorite.
Justin Bieber a condus nominalizările cu un total de nouă, luând acasă premiile pentru cel mai bun pop (cu hit-ul său „Peaches”) și artistul anului. De asemenea, a apărut pe scenă alături de rapperul australian The Kid LAROI, interpretând single-ul lor ‘Stay’.
BTS l-a urmat pe Bieber cu șapte nominalizări, obținând premii pentru cel mai bun K-Pop și Song of the Summer (ambele cu single-ul lor „Butter”) și Group of the Year.
